ASG takes immense pride in providing the safest, most technologically advanced and comprehensive local, regional and balanced general anesthesia care for animals - anywhere!
And we take general anesthesia - especially critical patient care anesthesia - most seriously. Our commitment begins with exceptional equipment typically found only in larger hospitals and intensive care units for people.
Anesthesia machines like the Narkomed 6000 (pictured) provides precise control of our anesthetized animals. The machine can simultaneously deliver up to three, separately controlled gases and one anesthetic agent and is designed to protect the patient, the OR staff and it’s own systems from contamination while operating. The aluminum encased, heated, compact breathing system also provides enhanced performance.
The Narkomed 6000’s Divan ventilator is an advanced, electronic, piston-driven, anesthesia ventilator with an integrated, compact breathing system and absorber. The ventilator supports three mechanical modes of ventilation:
Volume Mode (time cycled and volume-controlled)
Pressure Mode (time cycled and pressure-controlled
Synchronized Intermittent Mandatory Ventilation (SIMV)
The Narkomed 6000’s ventilator can control breathing patterns based on the following settings:
airway pressure
tidal volume
respiratory rate
inspiratory:expiratory ratio (I:E)
inspiratory pause
positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP)
The ventilator also makes automatic adjustments to ensure that preset tidal volumes are delivered to the patient regardless of changes in patient airway/lung compliance, fresh gas flows and compliance losses in the breathing system, absorber and breathing hoses
The Divan ventilator is capable of delivering peak airway pressures between 10 - 80 cm H2O and tidal volumes from 10 - 1400 ml. Practically, we’re able to ventilate animals as small as 0.5 kg (1.1 lbs) and as large as 140 kg (> 300 lbs).
ASG uses Datex-Ohmeda Cardiocap/5 monitors - a compact powerhouse designed for use in the operating room. The Cardiocap/5 offers full vital signs monitoring capabilities from the measurement of oxygenation to advanced airway gas analysis and ventilation with spirometry.
Key features of the Cardiocap/5 to ensure patient safety include:
ECG 5-lead with ST analysis
Impedance respiration
Sp02 (oxygen saturation)
Non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP)
Invasive blood pressure (two channels)
Temperature (two channels)
Integrated airway gases (sidestream CO2, patient O2, patient N2O)
Automatic, five agent, anesthetic identification and measurement
Tidal volume
Minute volume
Flow
Compliance
Airway resistance
Airway pressure
Integrated neuromuscular transmission (NMT) measurement with automated train-of-four (TOF) measurement
Other features include intuitive user interfaces, large numerics and waveforms for excellent visibility and a battery back-up to handle sudden power down situations.
